Bayern Munich head coach Vincent Kompany spoke after his team beat Augsburg 3-0 in the Bundesliga on Friday.
Kompany’s Bavarians moved eight points clear of their rivals after beating Augsburg 3-0 at home thanks to a hat-trick from Harry Kane, with the second of his three goals coming from the penalty spot, in the Bundesliga on Friday.
Facing a well-organized, deep-lying Augsburg side, Bayern had to fight hard for victory, but eventually broke the deadlock from the penalty spot just after the hour mark before adding two goals in stoppage time.
After the final whistle, Bayern coach Vincent Kompany praised his players for winning a difficult game, but also pointed out that there’s always room for improvement.
“It’s a Bundesliga game, so it’s normal that it’s not an easy game,” Kompany said after the game. “We had 33 shots and were in the opponent’s box a lot, but we stayed calm.”
“When you get into the opponent’s penalty area so often, it’s normal to get penalties. Today was an important win, especially after the international break, and now it’s time to focus on the next game against PSG.”
